MARCUS STROMAN FIRES COMPLETE-GAME SHUTOUT

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Marcus Stroman put together a masterpiece on the mound during Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The right-hander carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning before giving up a leadoff single to Wander Franco. He allowed only a pair of baserunners in what ended up being his fourth career complete game. Stroman matched his season-high with eight strikeouts in this game. He'll carry a 2.59 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 62/24 K/BB ratio across 12 starts into his next outing versus the San Diego Padres.
