College baseball power rankings: Week 12

1. Texas A&M (+500)

With a 39-8 overall record, including an undefeated, 24-0 mark in non-conference play, the Aggies are No. 1 in the latest USA TODAY Coaches' Poll and in College World Series odds. Leading the way are junior outfielder Braden Montgomery (.348/.489/.820, 23 HR) and redshirt sophomore pitcher Ryan Prager (8-1, 2.67 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 85 strikeouts).

2. Arkansas (+600)

The Razorbacks reached the 40-win mark before the 10-loss mark this season and have played their way to an impressive 17-7 conference record against tough SEC competition. Junior pitcher Hagen Smith has established himself as one of college baseball's best pitchers with a 9-0 record to pair with a 1.36 ERA, which leads all D-I college baseball starters. He's also among college baseball leaders with his 125 strikeouts.

3. Tennessee (+1000)

Tennessee has nearly matched Arkansas' feats exactly with a 39-9 overall record and a 17-7 mark against SEC opponents. The Vols have dominated on the bump and from the plate this season with a team batting average up to .324 (fourth in D-I) and pitching staff ERA of 3.92 (seventh in D-I) as of May 2.

4. Clemson (+1200)

Clemson tops the non-SEC college baseball contenders with its fourth-place spot in the Coaches' Poll and on odds boards. The Tigers are atop the ACC with their 16-7 conference record (35-10 overall) and have scored 11 or more runs in three of their last four games.

5. Oregon State (+1400)

Oregon State is among teams with the best overall records (34-12) in college baseball but has had some bumps in conference play. Their 13-9 record in Pac-12 games has them in fourth place in the conference. Still, the Beavers have the 10th-best pitching staff in D-I college baseball by ERA (3.97 as of May 2) and the help of possible No. 1 pick in the MLB draft, Travis Bazzana (.414/.580/.930, 21 HR). Closer Bridger Holmes, who boasts a 1.46 ERA and 11 saves in 19 appearances (24 and two-thirds innings), is another standout for Oregon State.
