Sunday's NHL playoffs slate sees one series kick off the second round as another series closes out Round 1.

The New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes make up the second-round clash as two of the NHL's top three teams from the regular season square off. The Rangers handed the Washington Capitals a four-game sweep in the first round, while the Hurricanes took care of business in five games against the New York Islanders.

The second game on Sunday is the final first-round matchup of this year's playoffs as the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars battle it out in the second Game 7 in two nights. The two teams will try to out-do the drama in Boston one night earlier in the Boston Bruins' Game 7 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
