NICK SABAN PUTS TOP 10 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PROGRAM ON UPSET ALERT IN WEEK 2

Week 2 of the college football season is underway, which means we could see more upsets. Last week, No. 10 Florida State lost to Boston College, and No. 3 Oregon almost fell to Idaho.

The Ducks narrowly won 24-14, and now, they will face the Boise State Broncos, a team that scored 56 points in Week 1 and is considered by some to be a contender to represent the Group of Five in the College Football Playoff.

That shaky first-week performance by the Ducks was enough for Nick Saban to pick Boise State as his "superdog" on "College GameDay" Saturday, putting the Ducks on upset alert.

"Boise, 19 point dogs at Oregon," Saban said. "Oregon has a lot of weapons, but Boise scored 56 points last week. Oregon's going to have to stop the run."

Oregon will need to contain star running back Ashton Jeanty to prevent an upset. Jeanty had an outstanding performance in Week 1 of college football, rushing for 267 yards and scoring six touchdowns. However, the Broncos' defense had a tough time against Georgia Southern, allowing 45 points.

For the Ducks to take advantage of Boise State's defense, they will need to finish drives better than they did in Week 1. Despite gaining nearly 500 yards in total offense and quarterback Dillon Gabriel completing 41-of-49 passes for 380 yards, they only managed to score 24 points.

The Ducks and the Broncos will play on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at 10:00 p.m. ET on Peacock.
